All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  We at Balancingtouch wish to  thank the Medical Professions that have taken the most risk by helping those in need. We thank the Chiropractic Association for attending to patients needs  despite the high risks and for the protocols you put in place to lease some of the professionals , to the allied health association for allowing a portion of your members to assist the public that have been desperate for the compassionate touch that is safe. and thank you to our international regulators, Accreditation body and partners for all the guidance , insight and research you have given for the greater good and picture of our global industry

This has shocked the world and shaken our global approach, but in South Africa it has has drastically highlighted the urgent need for development,  regulation, refinement and remodelling in our industry in  natural healing and integrative touch practices, different .

The current limiting, counter productive association frame work in place, with the mind set that chooses  to not to recognise the other 80+% of all forms of natural health touch therapy, does not serve, uplift or encourage the greater wellness industry that flourish abroad.

Investigation & research has shown, The above professions must have their own designated regulator to maintain the very different approach we have to health (from the perspective of seeing the body as whole with  focus on health upliftment and prevention). Where as the medical regulated therapies,  "Therapeutic" treatments  approach the body with the the view that it is degenerating with focus on disease,

Evidence has shown that the majority of clients prefer the treatment from the non medical professionals that truly prevent issues and uplift their health and are able to meet the needs that are not met through the fixed and ridged approach  regardless of not having it covered by medical aid.

Approximately half  of the medical professionals prefer to work with international skilled massage and reflexology practitioners  in the functional/integrative  health touch profession because of their different approach to the same scenario, leading to better, safer and more personalised results with each person. and both see that are seen as essential services by many doctors and Specialists as well as the general public need to be represented and spoken for to receive the due respect and recognition for the work they do and how they with a different approach and outlook add tremedously to the practices of the health sector safely and coherently and without conflicting/contraindicative methods.

What is more important than the above is that.

The lack of willingness of  "associations"  to support, acknowledge, or accept the many highly skilled professionals in the larger part of OUR industry were excluded from vital insight or consultation.

We believe that in a pandemic, for the good of the public and in light of Primum Non Nocere,  All who practice using touch to assist with brining wellness to others  should  be considered across the industry even when the scope may differ.

They were not sent any information or policy regarding Safety Hygiene

They were not spoken to or for or even considered

They were not given safety information or regulations

They were not asked for their valuable data and insight or risk assessments that would have added to the industry.

Their lives and their clients lives were potentially put at risk by the lack of williningness to use what authority is available to spread the safety protocols.

luckily, most have been trained by reputable, accredited education providers that care, but unfortunately those who were trained by academies that  are beyond your scope  and who are unethical, would have neglected this information in foundation work, would suffer

leading experts and authorities of each disipline to give our industry the correct, reliable, and and urgent responses by an appointed body or council that can regulate specific touch therapies and support/ guide all practitioners that practice their disciplines that fall outside of the scope of practice, and do not contain the competency level of understanding or approach to this sector  relevant ,informed, or amended methods of approach and techniques and perspective or mind set to be effective, competent, authoritive or decisive   on and crisis, growth refinement or regulatory

as an institute, we  have missed being able to provide you with the education that we know you love, and everyone here is looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.
